Looking at all the film magazine covers together in terms of the boldest cover I think is the third one is the one that catches the eye the best as the bold colours and the effect on the face look the best out of the four however it doesn't have many of the film magazine conventions. The two on the top aren't very interesting look at but have a conventional layout. So out of the four magazines Personally I think that it is obvious that the fourth magazine design is the best I'm going to make a few improvements first.
FINAL FILM MAGAZINE |
This is my final film magazine front cover, I'm really happy with this as it follows the typical conventions and challenges them too. Also I have been able to develop my skills from my music magazine last year, by recognising what a typical magazine layout is using puffs and mastheads. It has made me develop my skills by being able to do a different style of magazine which I have found quite difficult to do as film magazine have quite a 'random' layout where as music magazines are quite structured. My magazine is an adaptation of my fourth plan, I think it is a good representation of what a film magazine should look like it is appealing it also challenges the stereotypical conventions. The masthead is in the shape of a one as the magazine is called 'Studio 1' to resemble the masthead as I tried just a normal masthead and it looked quite basic, however I think this looked unusual but intrugueing. I have a range of different fonts; 'chiller','calibri' and 'britanic bold' and some are italic or in bold to make them stand out more. The blue and white colour scheme is continuous throughout my magazine as the blue is very bold as the colours are quite dark and soft colours but the contrast of the bright blue makes it stand out and more appealing I think. However my film magazine could be alot better, and it isn't very complexed in fact its quite basic, I'm going to re-do this as I think it could be alot better especially as the masthead isn't really a masthead, it looks more like a logo. Therefore I am doing to re do it.
